The NCAA was created as an outcome of the Intercollegiate Athletic Association of the United States. Presidents of five major institutions like: Army (West Point), Navy, Harvard, Princeton,and Yale Army, gathered to decide how to protect young athletes from the dangerous and exploitive athletics practices of the time.
